DESCRIPTION:Law Enforcement Torch Run  Final Leg for Special Olympics\n\n\n\nFor more than 34 years\, law enforcement officers have been volunteering to champion acceptance and inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities. Through their public awareness and fundraising campaigns the Law Enforcement Torch Run  for Special Olympics (LETR) has created hope for Special Olympics athletes throughout the world. \n\n\n\nThis summer\, law enforcement personnel from around the world will gather to carry the Flame of Hope  the length and breadth of California before bringing the Flame of Hope  into the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as part of the Opening Ceremony for the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games on Saturday\, 25 July 2015. With 7\,000 athletes and 3\,000 coaches representing 177 countries\, and an anticipated 500\,000 spectators\, the 2015 Special Olympics World Games will be the largest sports and humanitarian event anywhere in the world in 2015\, and the single biggest event in Los Angeles since\n\nthe 1984 Olympic Games.\n\n\n\nThis is a once in a life time experience to witness firsthand the inspirational journey of the Torch on its way to the World Games.\n\nThe public is invited\, and we encourage you and your family and friends\, to line the route and attend the ceremony Tuesday\, July 14\, 2015 between 6:55 pm to 7:55 pm.\n\n\n\nThe Torch Run Final Leg Team will conduct a ceremonial run beginning at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center\, 233 Gregory Lane\, to the ceremony site at Pleasant Hill City Hall 100 Gregory Lane. Upon arrival at City Hall\, at approximately 6:55 pm\, there will be a one hour inspirational and motivating presentation to create public awareness for Special Olympics that includes the Final Leg Team taking time to meet and greet the community. Following the ceremony the Final Leg Team will continue their journey running through the downtown along Crescent Dr. before proceeding to their next location.\n\nThe best viewing area for both the team arrival and ceremony will be on Trelany Road between Cleaveland Rd. and Gregory Lane near the City Hall gazebo at approximately 6:55 pm. Your next opportunity to see the team running in formation and carrying the Flame will be after the ceremony as the team runs through the downtown along Crescent Dr.\n\n\n\nView Map
