The 21st Annual East Bay International Jewish Film Festival will run Saturday, March 5 through Sunday, March 13 at the Century 16 Theaters in downtown Pleasant Hill. Our exciting 2016 cinematic line features 30 feature films, shorts and documentaries from around the world, including Bulgaria, Canada, England, France, Germany, Morocco and New Zealand. Many of our dramas explore social issues that focus on questions concerning religious, ethnic and racial identity (The Kind Words, White Lies, Welcome, A Borrowed Identity); subservience to authority figures (Experimenter, Labyrinth of Lies, Phoenix, Remember) and the importance of religious pluralism and tolerance (Apples in the Desert, Once in a Lifetime, Serial Bad Weddings).
"We are especially proud to screen Labyrinth of Lies, Phoenix and Remember," says Film Festival chair Margaret Winter. "Labyrinth and Phoenix are on the "Top 10" lists of many film critics and Remember, an East Bay premiere from Canada, stars the legendary actor Christopher Plummer."
